At
Interstate, job safety is part of our culture
Interstate is known throughout the construction industry for having
a working culture built around job safety. In fact, many project
managers and facilities engineers choose Interstate specifically
because of our safety record.
Safety
performance is measured by the modification rate (EMR)* that Workers
Compensation assigns to each organization. Interstate presently
has an EMR of .69, and has achieved similar results for the past
5 years. The current industry average is: 1.0, anything below that
is considered outstanding.
Interstate's
safety committee works to insure that our programs stay current
with changing trends and regulations. In addition to mandatory annual
CPR training and bi-annual first aid training our field personnel
receive:
-
A copy of our safety program overview
- A
copy of our On-Site Hazard Communication Program
-
New employee safety orientation and instruction
-
On site, weekly safety updates
- Interstate
periodically conducts safety seminars that are available to each
employee
